Shahada: Declaration of Faith

The Shahada is the first pillar of Islam and represents the Muslim declaration of faith. Through the testimony:

“There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger.”

a believer affirms the oneness of Allah and accepts the guidance revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

The Shahada marks a person’s entry into Islam and forms the foundation of Islamic faith and practice.

Salat: Prayer in Islam

Salat is the second pillar of Islam and consists of the five daily prayers that Muslims perform throughout the day. Through prayer, believers maintain a constant connection with Allah and dedicate moments to worship, reflection, and gratitude.

Salat holds a central place in Islamic practice and helps strengthen discipline, faith, and spiritual awareness in daily life.

Zakat: Charity and Helping Those in Need

Zakat is the third pillar of Islam and consists of giving a portion of one’s wealth to those in need. This practice helps promote solidarity, support the community, and remind Muslims of the importance of sharing with fairness and compassion.

Zakat represents an important obligation in Islam and is part of the social and spiritual responsibility of every Muslim.

Sawm: Fasting During Ramadan

Sawm is the fourth pillar of Islam and refers to the fasting observed during the month of Ramadan. From dawn until sunset, Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs to strengthen discipline and spiritual awareness.

Fasting during Ramadan also encourages patience, gratitude, and empathy for those who are less fortunate.

Hajj: Pilgrimage to Mecca

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and refers to the pilgrimage to Mecca that every Muslim must perform at least once in their lifetime, provided they have the means and ability to do so.

During Hajj, millions of Muslims from different countries gather to perform acts of worship that symbolize unity, faith, and equality in Islam.
